A Humble Beginning

Bharat Masala began as a modest set-up in a corner of the founder’s home. Spices were ground on a single chakki, packed by hand under candlelight, and delivered door-to-door and to local shops on a Luna bike. Even after the devastation of the Odisha Super Cyclone, the work never stopped.

First Television Breakthrough

Bharat Masala’s first television advertisement aired on Doordarshan, sharing the brand's story across households in Odisha and helping build early brand recognition.

Laying the Foundation

Established the first manufacturing facility (Unit 1) in Jagatpur, Cuttack, and officially registered as Jay Bharat Spices Private Limited.

Connecting with the Community

Participated in Cuttack’s iconic Baliyatra, the world’s largest open-air trade fair, showcasing products to thousands of new customers.

Regional Expansion

Expanded the distribution network across Odisha and into West Bengal, Bihar, Assam, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, and parts of South India.

Set up Unit 2 factory in Jagatpur Industrial Estate, introducing semi-automated grinding technology for improved efficiency and consistency.

Going Global

Marked the first international export with a successful shipment to Kuwait — a major step in Barat Masala’s global journey. Also introduced a range of new spices and food products.

Diversification & Celebration

Launched Unit 3 in Jagatpur, featuring fully automated, Italian-imported pasta machinery. Celebrated the milestone with 500+ distributors at a grand event in Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad. This year also saw popular Indian TV actress Shweta Tiwari become the face of Bharat Masala, bringing flavour and familiarity to kitchens across India.

A Milestone Year

Achieved triple-digit sales growth, driven by product consistency, growing trust, and an expanding national distribution network.

Award-Winning Excellence

Received the State Export Award for five consecutive years (2014-15, 2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18, 2018-19), recognising excellence in exports and product quality. Indian film icon Dharmendra joined Bharat Masala as brand ambassador, bringing legendary trust and timeless appeal to every kitchen.

Advancing with Technology

Inaugurated a 30-acre integrated flagship facility in Ramdaspur with cryogenic grinding technology and a fully automated, contactless production line. The Chief Minister of Odisha led the inauguration, and the Governor hoisted the Permanent National Flag on the premises — a proud moment for Bharat Masala.

Serving in Crisis

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Bharat Masala distributed over 80,000 food relief packets (4 kg each) to support communities in need.

Crossing ₹500 Crore Turnover

Achieved ₹500+ crore turnover in FY 2022–23. Partnered with ORMAS and the Government of Odisha to empower chilli farmers in Kuchinda, Sambalpur — promoting direct sourcing and strengthening local agriculture.

Celebrated 25 glorious years. Hosted the 25th Bharat Pratibha Samman at the Ramdaspur premises with the Chief Minister as Chief Guest. Also held a grand Sales & Distributor Meet in Goa with over 700+ attendees — proudly marking the brand’s legacy and vision for the future.

Scaling New Heights
